Dear Bernd,

I just finished reading your fascinating book here in Brazil.
It took me just one week from buying to finishing it, I just couldn't stop reading. I guess this is because it tells me a story that seems familiar to me in many ways. Although I am a Brazilian, I went to Germany a couple of times and I became friends with some Germans who were never ashamed of recognizing the crimes their nation committed against the jews. I happened to visit Bamberg also. And I live in a Jewish neighborhood here in São Paulo (but I am not jew).
The Second World War subject always attracted me, I always felt like I needed to understand it more and more. So I came to your book recently.
But the major identification I had with your book is because it relates very much, in many aspects to two great books I read in the past: The Hero with a Thousand Faces (Joseph Campbell) and the Über die Entwicklung der Persönlichkeit (Carl Gustav Jung). It is amazing how the interesting history of your life relates to these two books in many ways.
Thanks for sharing your personal life history.

Your reader,
